SECTOR MEETS TO EXPLORE LATEST CLINICAL TRIAL INNOVATIONS

Over 100 people attended AEPCC’s 2025 Early Psychosis Scientific Meeting on 14 August in Melbourne to hear the latest research from across Australia and discuss new innovations in clinical trials.

The event brought together researchers and clinicians, including a strong cohort of early career researchers. Members of the lived experience community were also actively involved, interviewing speakers for the AEPCC Instagram account @psychosis_understood.

Attendees praised the program’s strong line-up, with many highlighting the presentation from Orygen Peer Researcher James Reeves, who showcased a new Clozapine resource co-designed with the lived experience community.

The audience showed strong interest in how clinical quality registries (CQRs) can help accelerate research, with many questions for keynote speaker, Professor John McNeil AM, Emeritus Professor at Monash University.

Drawing on his experience setting up registries in other areas of health, John is now assisting AEPCC to establish the first mental health CQR, which will be focused on early psychosis.

If you attended, don’t forget to share your thoughts by submitting your feedback via the form in your inbox so AEPCC can continually improve our events. If you would like any of the presentations from the day, please email: [email protected].
