Professor Andy Thompson

Professor Andrew Thompson is a Professor of Youth Mental Health at Orygen and the Centre for Youth Mental Health, the Universtiy of Melbourne and Associate Professor at the University of Warwick (UK). Andy is the Principal Investigator for the Australian Early Psychosis Collaborative Consortium (AEPCC).

Andy is the lead psychiatrist for the early psychosis stream (EPPIC and PACE) at Orygen Specialist Program. He is also currently acting Director of Specialist Services at Orygen and the academic lead for the national headspace Early Psychosis program (hEP).

Andy’s research interests include risk factors for development of psychosis, predictors of outcome in early psychosis and novel approaches to treatments in early psychosis and other areas of youth mental health.
