The AEPCC Clinical Quality Registry is live!

The first Clinical Quality Registry (CQR) for the mental health sector globally has been built and is being tested in five early psychosis clinical services across Australia.

CQRs are common in other areas of health, given their proven ability to improve patient outcomes and enable research breakthroughs.

AEPCC’s CQR provides immediate benefits for clients, making it easier for clinicians to work with them to chart progress, identify what works and what doesn’t, and make treatment decisions together.

The web-based application has been developed with input from the lived experience community, so treatment summaries are meaningful and useful for people experiencing psychosis and their carers.

The AEPCC CQR will also provide critical data to enable clinical services, researchers and the health system to better understand patient experiences. This understanding is essential to improving psychosis treatments and achieving better patient outcomes.

The clinical sites initially adopting the AEPCC CQR are:

  • Program for Early Intervention & Prevention of Disability (PEIPOD), St Vincents Hospital, Darlinghurst, NSW
  • Early Psychosis Programme, Bondi Junction Community Mental Health Centre, NSW
  • headspace Early Psychosis (hEP), Darwin, NT
  • headspace Early Psychosis (hEP), Adelaide, SA
  • Early Psychosis Prevention & Intervention Centre (EPPIC), Orygen, Western Melbourne, VIC

“The collection of data in a systematic and standardised manner will benefit our patients’ care and outcomes. It will also help us better develop future clinical services and interventions. We are very excited to be a part of this process.”  Associate Professor Brooke Short, Clinical Lead, PEIPOD

The CQR will be rolled out into more sites over the next four years and continually improved.
