Grant is a psychiatrist with clinical experience in early psychosis services. He is the director of InforMH, the unit responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting for NSW mental health and suicide prevention services. His work and research use health service data to understand and improve mental health care. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, Sydney University, and Honorary Professor, Faculty of Health, Macquarie University.
